Ishbel served her apprenticeship at Digby Brown, Glasgow between 1975 and 1977. In 1983 she was asked to open the firm’s Edinburgh office. She became a partner in 1985 and for many years ran the Edinburgh office virtually single-handed. She retired as a partner and became a Consultant in 2003. Ishbel has extensive experience in personal injury actions in the Court of Session and Sheriff Courts. She was a Legal Counsellor with the Head Injury Trust for Scotland and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. She has been a Council member, Vice President and Librarian of the Society of Solicitors in the Supreme Courts.
