Digby Brown is one of Scotland’s largest specialist personal injury practices. From our
offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Glenrothes, we cover the length and breadth of the
country, helping those who have been involved in accidents, and their families, to rebuild their
lives.
Our expertise in personal injury law, particularly in the fields of catastrophic head and
spinal injury, is widely acknowledged and we are ranked Band 1 in the leading independent
publications,
Chambers Guide to the UK
Legal Profession and
Legal 500.
As part of our commitment to providing one of the best personal injury services in Scotland,
Digby Brown has established its own Motorcycle Law Department - a team of first-class,
highly-experienced, specially-trained lawyers who truly understand motorcycle dynamics and control.
The Digby Brown Motorcycle Law Department is dedicated to representing motorcyclists who have been
injured in accidents on Scottish roads.
All members of the Digby Brown Motorcycle Law Department, from administrators to lawyers,
have undergone specialist training devised by one of Scotland’s top motorcycle instructors. “
This training is part of our commitment to ensuring that every member of the Digby Brown Motorcycle
Law Department knows about motorcycling and motorcycles inside out,” explained Brenda Mitchell,
head of the Digby Brown Motorcycle Law Department. “This enables us to add real value to the
service we offer to injured motorcyclists. “
Motorcycle Training
Two members of the Digby Brown Motorcycle Law Department, Isla McKnight and Ruthven Bell,
recently passed their Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), which means they can now ride up to a 125cc
bike on the road.
Brenda Mitchell, head of the Digby Brown Motorcycle Law Department, is currently
participating in the
Enhanced
Rider Scheme. Having ridden motorcycles extensively when she was younger, last summer, Brenda
decided to return to the road on a Suzuki SV 650 “I didn’t want to do this without brushing up my
motorcycling skills extensively so I signed up for the scheme which is very worthwhile,” said
Brenda..
Motorcycle Safety
Having witnessed the aftermath of many motorcycle accidents, Digby Brown is keen to
promote safe, responsible riding and supports two charities which help to ensure motorcycling is as
safe as possible.
Bikesafe is run by Police Forces around the UK and promotes
safer riding by enabling police motorcyclists to pass on their knowledge, skills and experience to
other motorcyclists.
The road safety charity
BRAKE has two aims: to prevent death and injury on the roads
through education of all road users and campaigning for road safety; and to care for those people
who are bereaved or affected by serious injury in a road crash.
Events
As part of our commitment to Scottish motorcyclists, in 2009, Digby Brown is supporting the
two motorcycle clubs which organise the majority of motorcycle road race meetings in Scotland:
Kircaldy and District Motorcycle Club and
Melville Motor Club. Digby Brown will be sponsoring
various motorcycling-related events throughout the year, including the Grampian Motorcycle
Convention at Alford, the north of Scotland’s festival of motorcycling which takes place on the 6th
September 2009.
