The Digby Brown Winter Dinner Dance raises £46,000 for Spinal
Injuries Scotland 2009
6th November 2009 - Over 420 guests were wined, dined and
were royally entertained at the seventh annual Digby Brown Winter Dinner Dance for Spinal Injuries
Scotland. The dinner held at the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow raised £46,000 which will be used to
provide the vital services for those with spinal cord injuries.
This year guests were entertained by two former ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ acts: Bar Wizards who
kicked off the evening with their cocktail making ‘flair’ show and Divas Las Vegas who visually
stunned guests with a vibrant cabaret act.
Fund raising activities included a charity casino, a tombola and a silent auction but the
biggest attraction was the grand prize draw – a Chrysler Aveo worth more than £8,000 which was won
on the evening by James McLaughlin.
Robert Swanney, Partner with Digby Brown Solicitors said: “This event is rapidly becoming a
not to be missed occasion in the social calendar. We believe the key is to alter the format and
ring the changes every year. This year I was heartened to see a great many more corporate tables as
well as many familiar faces appearing on the guest list all united in raising vital funds for
Spinal Injuries Scotland.”
Adrian O’ Donnell, Chairman of Spinal Injuries Scotland said: “From the feedback we have
received this has been our best year yet, both in terms of the format of the dinner as well as the
funds raised. Next year is our 50th anniversary, so we have already started planning what is sure
to be something quite spectacular.”
