Criminal Injuries Compensation
Victims of violent crime can suffer devastating physical and psychological injury. Digby
Brown’s experience in acting for the victims of criminal assaults allows it to readily assess
the prospects of success. If we form the view that a case has reasonable prospects of success, we
can fund the case from start to finish. In the event that the case is unsuccessful, we will cover
any liability to meet the client's own outlays such as medical reports for example, and will
not charge a fee.
If you have been injured as a result of a crime, you can make an application to the
Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority
(CICA). The time limit for applications is usually two years although it may be possible for
people who suffered injury as a child to bring a claim outwith the two year period.
Digby Brown can advise and assist with applications to the
Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority
(CICA). As well as processing the application, we have considerable experience of representing
clients at
Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals
Panel hearings.
