Failure to recognise aggressive behaviour of employee results in assault

Mr W. was assaulted at work by a fellow employee. He worked for a Local Council who’s Insurers denied all liability for the injuries. Despite the difficulties involved in establishing the Council were at fault for their employee's actions Digby Brown successfully argued that the Council should have taken preventative action in light of the employee's history of aggressive behaviour Digby Brown obtained a settlement of £4,000 for our client.

Obtaining compensation after home carer is criminally assaulted at work

Mrs K., a home carer, suffered a soft tissue injury to her left shoulder when she was assaulted at work.  Having succesfully obtained compensation for her through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, Digby Brown pursued a claim against her employers - not an easy case to pursue in a complex area of the law. Digby Brown, after court action, successfully obtained £7750 for the client.
