Douglas Jaap

Douglas Jaap is head of employment based at the Glasgow office. Douglas is dual qualified in England and Wales as well as in Scotland. He has a wealth of experience in all aspects of employment law including representing clients at employment tribunals, employment appeal tribunals and the courts. He is a Civil Solicitor Advocate who also has experience in other areas of civil litigation in Scotland and throughout the UK.
He studied at Edinburgh University as an undergraduate and postgraduate. He has been a member of the Law Society of Scotland since 1990 and a member of the Law Society of England and Wales since 2004.

His principle remit is employment law cases. These include Unfair dismissal, contractual disputes, Equal pay claims and Compromise Agreements. He is a member of the Law Society of Scotland sub committee on Employment law. He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Employment law.

Case highlights include settling in excess of 750 Equal pay claims with a value of over £2 million. He acts for the whole spectrum of Employees from council
Grade 1 staff to Executives of prominent companies. All though he works mainly for employees who does also act for employers.
