Graeme Garrett

Graduated from Edinburgh University 1975. Qualified as solicitor 1977. Joined Digby Brown as a Partner in 1997. Head of Foreign & Travel Law Department.

Graeme Garrett has specialised in personal Injury litigation on behalf of trade union and private clients for more than 35 years. He acted for a number of families and survivors in claims arising out of the Piper Alpha Disaster and also served on the Steering Committee of the Scottish Solicitors' Myodil Group. He has represented victims and families in the Stockline Disaster, the Air France Disaster and the Super Puma Helicopter Disaster.

Graeme is a founder member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) in Scotland and is a former Council member of the Law Society of Scotland. He is a past convenor of The Law Society of Scotland's Personal Injury Panel and has represented the Society on the Ogden Tables Working Party since 1998. Graeme is ranked in Band 1as a Leader in their Field by Chambers Guide to the UK Legal Profession. He is a regular contributor to conferences and seminars, speaking on Personal Injury related topics. Graeme has a particular interest in foreign and travel law and is a member of the American Association for Justice and the Pan-European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers. He sits as a part-time Tribunal Judge in Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeals.
