Robert Swanney to speak at the International Brain Injury Association World Congress

The official World Congress of the IBIA starts in Edinburgh on Thursday 22 March 2012 and is the ninth such World Congress to be held. Delegates from around the world will gather at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre to participate over two days in a wide ranging programme.

Friday’s session includes Digby Brown’s Head of Catastrophic Injury, Robert Swanney who participates in an Invited Symposia session entitled “Long Term Survival and Life Expectancy after Head Injury”.

Under the title “Life Expectancy after Head Injury: Legal Perspectives” Robert will deal with why lawyers are interested in life expectancy, how they use life expectancy data in damages awards and how the question of life expectancy should be approached in the light of recent studies. He will be preceded in the session by Professor Tom McMillan, Professor of Psychology at the University of Glasgow and Cynthia Harrison- Felix and Allen Brown both from the USA.
