The client suffered a fracture injury to her arm following a fall. The wound was not explored during initial surgery and a failure of appropriate x-ray review resulted in the fracture not healing properly.

The client required to undergo further corrective surgery which improved matters to an extent however she has been left with a continuing deformity, impairment and pain.

A court action was raised and the case settled for £110,000 the week before the Proof was due to commence. An initial offer of £70,000 had been made.
