Dundee hit and run victim secures compensation for injuries with Digby Brown Solicitors
Specialist personal injury solicitors in our Dundee office recently represented a victim of a hit and run, securing compensation for her injuries and the impact on her life.
Our client, based in Dundee, had walked from her flat to buy a newspaper from a nearby local shop in Dundee. On her return walk home, she crossed a street in Dundee and was almost on the other side of the road when she was suddenly knocked down by a car which fled the scene of the accident.
As a result of the car accident, our client suffered multiple injuries to her head, face, neck, back, pelvis, as well as psychological injuries. These had a significant impact on her life, with months within hospital for recovery, as well as help from her family members to get back on her feet.
The client came to Digby Brown’s Dundee office to make a claim for compensation following the accident. Our expert personal injury solicitors investigated the circumstances surrounding the compensation case to prove our client had been injured as the result of dangerous and irresponsible driving and negligence from the driver, and determined the impact this accident had on our client’s life.
The accident compensation case was brought to court and our solicitors within the Dundee office negotiated a 5 figure compensation offer for our client.
According to research from Brake, there are 5 deaths and 64 serious injuries on UK roads every day – which is an increase of 4% from the previous year. Most accidents are a result of driver error.
As of the 23rd November 2015, Brake will be launching Road Safety Week which asks all drivers to drive less and live more by walking, cycling or using public transport instead. This will make roads safer, more pleasant and less polluted – as well as helping people save money, reduce stress and live healthier lives.
