Coronavirus, Digby Brown and keeping safe matters

As the restrictions begin to ease following the Coronavirus outbreak in Scotland we felt it was important to let everyone know what Digby Brown is doing in these challenging times.

Most importantly we need to tell you that we are still open but continue to work remotely. It is our number one priority to keep everyone safe and in line with Government advice, we have temporarily shut all our offices.

For clients, the message is simple, we will continue to work on and progress your case. Your legal team have all the required technology, with secure remote access to all case files, telephone contacts remain the same, email and video conferencing can and will be used as appropriate.

We will however avoid face to face contact and will, where necessary, use video conferencing, WhatsApp, and FaceTime for group discussions. Please contact your solicitor if you have any questions.

The Courts are also starting new ways of working to ensure social distancing, the use of technology to enable remote hearings where possible. We are acutely aware of case milestones and up and coming deadlines which may be affected by this and will act accordingly. Again, if you have any concerns speak to your solicitor.

If your legal representative does contract the virus, and therefore is unable to work for a period of time, we have a continuity plan in place to allow others to access your files and progress matters.

If you need advice about a new legal matter, our legal enquiry team are still here to help. They are available from 8am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.

Sadly, like many others, we have had to postpone a number of events this year. We will look to see where we can take things online and build virtual event attendance.

We know these are worrying times, we know that many people will be feeling anxious about the future. We are here to help, to answer the questions we can and to reassure our clients that we are continuing as normal, different but normal.

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by what is happening. We are very much in this together and our strapline has never been more appropriate - because if it matters to you, it matters to Digby Brown.
