Horatio’s Garden is a UK charity which creates stunning gardens in the NHS spinal injury centres, with Horatio’s Garden Scotland opening at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in September 2016.
These gardens provide a relaxing, peaceful place for patients to escape to and spend time with their families and friends. This is especially important for spinal injury patients as they can spend many months inside a hospital with little time or access to going outside.
Horatio’s Garden offers patients with a spinal injury the opportunity to chat with staff at Horatio’s Garden, each other, their friends and families to provide an important distraction and the opportunity to develop rehabilitation back to a life full of potential.
Their events programme covers a variety of activities to engage the patients such as:
Digby Brown Solicitors are delighted to support Horatio's Garden events and activities programme for patients at the Scottish National Spinal Injuries Unit.
Our serious injury solicitors see first-hand how a spinal injury has a life changing impact on someone’s life.
Patients are often at the Spinal Injuries Unit for several months or longer, so any change of environment or opportunity to get outdoors, can be highly beneficial to their well-being.
We hope that the events and activities planned throughout this year can help patients recovering from a spinal injury and aid with their rehabilitation.
