Digby Brown expertise in brain injury recognised at Medical Book Awards

Family on the couch

Digby Brown have decades of specialist experience and expertise supporting people who have suffered brain injuries, their families and carers, and the organisations who support them. We are committed to creating resources and information to help people at what is often an extremely difficult time in their, or a loved one’s life.

We are delighted that our work in this area has been recognised by the British Medical Association (BMA). ‘Claiming compensation in Scotland after brain injury’, written by Digby Brown’s Robert Swanney and Moira Kay and Robert Morris , Information Officer with Headway, won a Commended Award in the Patient Information Category of the BMA Medical Book of the Year Awards 2013, which were announced on Tuesday 17th September.

This booklet was written because every year, people in Scotland fail to claim compensation because they don’t fully understand the system or their legal rights.  The booklet covers the legal process for claiming compensation, rehabilitation and financial issues and more.

Headway work to raise awareness of every aspect of brain injury and provide information, support and resources to help people living with brain injuries and those around them. Digby Brown have a long standing relationship with Headway. For more information on our work to support the charity, click here.

Copies of the booklet are available from Headway while a the charity has also produced a series of factsheets, to which Robert Swanney contributed, that provide information on a range of aspects of living with brain injury.
