Digby Brown Partner Graeme Garrett, Head of our Foreign and Travel law department, will speak at a major legal profession event this week.

Graeme will be addressing the Personal Injury Conference at the Law 2012 Scotland training exhibition and congress, being held on Tuesday (30th) and Wednesday (31st) in Glasgow.  He will be speaking on 'Ogden 6 Case Law and Ogden 7', includes the discount rate applied in personal injury cases.

Digby Brown, and our recognised legal experts such as Graeme Garrett, are at the forefront of debate around how levels of compensation in personal injury cases are calculated, including the ongoing issue of the discount rate in personal injury cases.

Following a successful motion before court last week, Digby Brown will be urgently appealing a decision by Lord Brodie earlier this month on whether the court can apply an alternative discount rate when assessing future losses. The appeal will be heard on 18th and 19th December.
