Digby Brown are excited to announce that we will be providing personal sponsorship to John Paul, one of Scotland’s rising cycling stars, in the run up to the 2014 games in Glasgow this July.

John Paul will be riding for Team GB in the 3rd and final stage of the 2013-2014 Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Track Cycling World Cup, being held in Guadalajara, Mexico from January 17-19th.   He is the reigning Scottish National Sprint Champion, successfully defending his title in Glasgow last October, and a junior World and double European gold medallist.

John Paul said

“2014 is going to be an incredibly exciting year for everyone involved in Scottish cycling as we build up to the games in Glasgow.  In the run up to that, I’m delighted to have been selected to compete for Team GB in Mexico later this month and, from there, hopefully on to competing in front of a home crowd in the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in July.

“I’d like to thank Digby Brown for this personal sponsorship, which will support me as I train and prepare myself to compete at the highest possible level in 2014.”

Fraser Oliver, Chief Executive of Digby Brown Solicitors, said:

“Like so many people across Scotland, everyone at Digby Brown is looking forward to seeing Scotland’s top cyclists compete in Glasgow this summer.  John Paul is a great example of a young athlete committed not only to competing at the highest level but raising the profile of cycling and cycling safety. We’re delighted to be able to offer him this support in such a big year.”

Laura McManus from Digby Brown’s specialist cycle department said;

“The success of Sir Chris Hoy and others has meant that cycling has never had a higher profile in Scotland. 2014 is a fantastic opportunity to encourage more people to cycle safely and enjoy the benefits that it brings.”
