The Dundee office of leading personal injury and employment lawyers Digby Brown has announced a partnership to support local charity The Brae Riding for the Disabled

Staff at the firm’s Dundee base nominated The Brae Riding for the Disabled as their charity of the year and will be supporting and fundraising for the organisation over the next year.

Jennifer Watson,  Solicitor with Digby Brown in Dundee, and Kathleen McMonagle, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, visited the charity last week to meet staff, learn more about their work and make an initial donation to help support these efforts.

The Brae has been providing horse riding therapy for disabled adults and children from Dundee and surrounding areas since it opened in 2008. It is an independent charity group that is part of the national Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).

Riding offers a challenge, often denied to many people, especially those who have been affected by an accident or serious illness and offers them a chance to regain mobility and a sense of achievement. Through the commitment of staff and volunteers, The Brae enables people with disabilities to benefit their health and well being and to achieve their goals.

Mary Sneddon, Manager at The Brae said

“We were absolutely delighted to be chosen by Digby Brown as their Charity Partner. Support from local connected business's are always welcomed, not just in terms of their fund raising  efforts but also increasing our public awareness.

“The staff that visited the Centre were very keen to show how much they want to help us and we are very much  looking forward to working in partnership with them.“

Robert Kernaghan, Partner in Digby Brown’s Dundee office, said:

“We are looking forward to supporting and working with The Brae Riding School for The Disabled over the next year.  This inspirational organisation is focused on helping people at challenging times in their lives, an aim everyone in our Dundee team shares.“

Kathleen McMonagle, Digby Brown Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, said:

“Playing an active role in the local communities we work in is important to Digby Brown. The Brae Riding for the Disabled are a great organisation and one of a number of charities our colleagues throughout Scotland will be actively supporting over the next year.”

Digby Brown won the Community Contribution Award at the Scott & Co. Legal Wards in both 2014 and 2015.
