Edinburgh Young Drivers 2014

Outside at Edinbrugh Young Drivers

This week sees emergency services and road safety professionals come together to offer advice and tips to young people throughout Edinburgh as they prepare to take to the roads as drivers.

Edinburgh Young Drivers is the road safety event for 5th and 6th year pupils across the city and is currently running at the Corn Exchange. The event kicked off on Monday 22nd September and runs until Thursday 25th September 2014.  Every state and independent school in Edinburgh received an invite.

Digby Brown are supporting the event and all week we are running a mock court which seeks to bring home the consequences of irresponsible driving in an entertaining and informative way.

The court, which features Solicitors and staff from our Edinburgh office, presents a road traffic crash from a variety of perspectives from a passenger seriously injured in the incident, the driver who caused the crash, a family member and a Police officer attending the scene.

At the end of each court session, attendees are asked for their views on what penalties the driver should incur before hearing about the very real consequences of careless driving.
