Edinburgh Young Drivers 2015

Edinburgh Young Drivers

Monday 28th September sees the Edinburgh Young Drivers event return to the city’s Corn Exchange. Digby Brown are supporting this week-long event, now in its 5th year, which aims to help 5th and 6th year school pupils understand how to be a safe driver.

Edinburgh Young Drivers is led by the Streets Ahead partnership. Streets Ahead brings together Edinburgh City Council, emergency services, road safety professionals and others working to make the city’s roads safer for everyone. Every state and independent school in Edinburgh has been invited to participate.

As in previous years, Digby Brown will be running a mock court, which will be open to everyone attending the event. The court aims to be an interactive and accessible demonstration of the very real consequences of irresponsible driving.

Our mock court features Solicitors and staff from our Edinburgh office. Through the court sessions, we aim to show the human side of the aftermath of a road traffic crash from a variety of perspectives, with attendees given the chance to discuss how a driver who causes a serious crash should be dealt with.

Edinburgh Young Drivers is an important event which we support because every day we see first-hand the real and tragic consequences of road traffic crashes. We are committed to doing anything we can to help make our roads safer for everyone.
