Winning artwork by brain injury survivors celebrated

People living with a brain injury were celebrated at a plush awards ceremony in Glasgow today (12th December).

The bash was held to mark exclusive artwork created by brain injury survivors as part of a 2018 calendar unveiling.

Charities from across Scotland flocked to the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow where individuals received prizes for entries that made it into the final calendar.

Chris Stewart, Partner and Head of Serious Injuries at Digby Brown Solicitors who organised the event, said: “Part of what this calendar illustrates is that brain injury survivors can retain many skills and talents.

“The fact it attracted interest from so many charities across the country is testament to that and I thank them for their dedication as I also congratulate the winning entries.

“Some brain injuries can often go unnoticed by those who survivors interact with – but that does not mean they live with it alone, and through the incredible efforts of each local charity, no one has to.

“Digby Brown remain proud to work alongside this inspiring community of brave individuals and will continue to support them however possible.”

Brain injury survivors whose artwork featured as the main picture of the month each received a £50 gift voucher with an additional £200 cheque going to their supportive charity.

The calendars will be sent to over a hundred hospitals, clinics and groups who provide services to those affected by acquired brain injury. The offices of each local support group across Ayrshire, East Lothian, Falkirk, Perth & Kinross, Wishaw, Dundee, Grampian, Fife and Glasgow will also be sent a copy.
