Settlement of £300,000 for engineer exposed to asbestos

Older man sitting in the park

Mr C. was diagnosed with mesothelioma, an asbestos related cancer, at the age of 59 as a result of exposure to asbestos dust at work.

How was he exposed to asbestos at work?

Mr C. was exposed to asbestos during his apprenticeship as an Engineer with the Ministry of Defence.

It was all too common at this time that employers exposed employees to asbestos dust and didn’t take adequate health and safety precautions, breaching Common Law duty to take reasonable care of their employees.

Mr C. got in touch with Digby Brown for legal help and his mesothelioma claim was assigned to our specialist asbestos disease solicitors.

£300,000 compensation for mesothelioma

A few weeks before the final court hearing, a settlement was achieved at £300,000 for Mr C.
