Digby Brown supports Global's Make Some Noise

For the second year in a row,  we’re proud to be the sponsors of Heart Scotland's challenge for Global's Make Some Noise. We know how much it matters to charities across Scotland to have the support from Global's Make Some Noise, helping those who need it most.

And now you can get involved too!

If you spot one of our billboards simply share its location on social media with #HeartMatters25, and we’ll donate £5 to Global’s Make Some Noise for every post. It’s a simple way to make a real difference.

Grado's Granite to Glasgow - Handcycle challenge

Following Des’s Great Walk to Glasgow last year, this year it’s Grado’s turn. He will be cycling over 400km from Aberdeen to Glasgow but not in any conventional way - but with his hands!

Over five demanding days he will travel up to 100km a day starting in Aberdeen and heading down Scotland’s east coast, through Fife and Edinburgh, before crossing the central belt to finish at Heart HQ in Glasgow on Friday morning.

Grado won’t be tackling the route alone. He’ll have the company and encouragement of members of Spinal Injuries Scotland, a charity supported by Global’s Make Some Noise. Digby Brown have worked closely with this charity for many years and know just how much their support means to people with a spinal injury.

Des bravely walked from North Queensferry across the Forth Road Bridge and continued through the night despite some typical Scottish weather to make it all the way to Glasgow in just under 24 hours.

Craig Semple, Marketing Director of Digby Brown said: “Des Clarke and Digby Brown Solicitors have a long-established relationship.

Des has been the host of our Winter Dinner dance for Spinal Injuries Scotland for over 10 years so when approached by Global Radio to sponsor, Make Some Noise on Heart radio it made commercial sense however more importantly it demonstrated our commitment to be involved in communities across the central belt of Scotland and beyond.

Des did the hard part we simply supported where we could.”

We even managed to join him for part of the walk to support him alongside some of the charities that Make Some Noise has supported over the years. Over the last 10 years, they have helped to change the lives of over 200,000 people across the UK.

It matters to us

We might say it a lot but it truly does matter to us.

This is why we wanted to get involved and help raise awareness for local charities in Scotland. We know just how significant this funding can be for these small charities.

With a focus on helping local charities, Make Some Noise provides essential support and services to those who need it most. Any money raised will go right back into local charities in Scotland.

Fraser Oliver, CEO of Digby Brown spoke with Des before his Great Walk in 2024 to discuss just how important supporting local charities is.

Digby Brown announce staff challenge in support of Des's Great Walk to Glasgow

Walking in Des's footsteps

Des pushed himself to complete an incredibly tough challenge and it inspired all of us at Digby Brown.

We decided to set a challenge for the Digby Brown staff, so they dusted off their walking boots and took on the task of matching Des’s step count - just at a slower pace over three weeks instead of one day. From Glasgow to Copenhagen, our staff took their steps wherever they could.

It wasn’t just for fun.

For every colleague who completed the challenge, we pledged £52 (£1 for every mile Des walked) towards Des’s Great Walk to Glasgow raising an additional £8,424 for a worthy cause.

Craig Semple, Marketing Director, spoke to Des about our incredible staff challenge.
