Digby Brown supporting Brake helpline for road crash victims

Cars, buses and motorbike traffic in town

Digby Brown has committed to being a Corporate Sponsor of Brake, the road safety charity, throughout 2018 and provide critical funding to support the Brake Helpline in Scotland.

Every day in the UK, five people die on the roads and around 60 more are seriously injured. This is the reason Brake, the road safety charity, exists - to support the victims of road crashes.

As a firm, we have worked alongside Brake for a number of years and are committed to helping families throughout Scotland who have been affected by road traffic crashes.

The Brake helpline provides vital help and advice to anyone who has been bereaved or seriously injured in a crash, their families and carers, since 1997 whether it happened recently or some time ago or whether in the UK or abroad.

This support acts as a life-line for many families who are trying to cope with severe emotional distress and trauma. The helpline can be reached by calling 0808 8000 401 or by emailing helpline@brake.org.uk.

The reach of Brake’s support services is ever expanding as they support more and more people every year when they need it most. Last year the helpline supported more than 600 road crash cases – and this is expected to grow this coming year.

This comes ahead of Road Safety Week which is set to begin next week on Monday 20th November. This year’s theme is Speed Down, Save Lives as speeding in the UK is still a major problem and a contributory factor in road crashes.

Fraser Simpson, Digby Brown Partner, volunteers as a media spokesperson for Brake. He said:

“At Digby Brown, we have represented thousands of people affected by crashes on the road and share Brake’s determination to help victims of road crashes in any way we can and reduce the needless carnage on our roads.

“We are looking forward to working alongside Brake during the upcoming year and supporting people in Scotland affected by crashes on the road.”
