Michelle Young joined the firm in 2020. She is a graduate of the University of Glasgow having obtained a Bachelor of Law (honours) and German language degree. She also obtained a Master of Law degree from the University of Mainz in Gemany. She is fluent in German and has a Dilpoma in Forensic Medicine from the University of Edinburgh. She is also a Notary Public.

She joined Digby Brown from the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service where she worked as an experienced prosecutor specialising in preparing High Court cases, including sexual offence, homicide and people trafficking cases. She is an experienced litigator having prosecuted over 60 Sheriff and Jury trials in the Sheriff Court.

Michelle is a senior solicitor within the Edinburgh office and works within the Non-Accidental Injury Team. She specialises in cases of historic abuse and non-accidental claims.

Michelle is keen to use the knowledge and experience that she gained at COPFS to help victims of non-accidental injury to claim the financial redress they deserve.
