Inverness office secures £250k settlement within 10 months of work accident

Man looking out to sea

In this personal injury case, our client – a 53 year old male - was injured at work, sustaining significant crush injuries to his leg.

The severity of the injuries sustained was such that medical and vocational reports confirmed he would never return to his employment as a joiner, and also unable to return to work on the open labour market.

No wages from contractor after work accident

The client contacted Digby Brown’s Inverness office after seeing a television advert, and we were confident that he had a good case.

Being self-employed, the pursuer was left in a dire financial situation. He had received no wages from the Contractor following the accident.

The Contractors’ insurers refused to make an interim payment, and so we litigated our clients’ claim at the earliest opportunity.

Interim compensation payment within 8 weeks

Once the case had been litigated, Digby Brown managed to secure an interim payment within 8 weeks.

As the client was unable to work his financial security was deteriorating rapidly and he was becoming increasingly concerned and anxious.

Digby Brown was able to secure a further interim payment to alleviate the financial strain on the client, while we negotiated an overall settlement of the claim.

Digby Brown solicitors secured compensation of £250,000

Just 10 months after the client was injured, Digby Brown were able to secure a settlement of £250,000 without the need for a Court hearing, securing the client’s financial position in light of his debilitating injuries and their effect on his future employment.

Peace of mind with no win no fee funding

By operating through the Compensate - No win, No fee - funding package the client received the damages he deserved without having to worry about the legal costs of litigating.

Personal finances don’t need to get in the way of a worthy personal injury claim, and you should never have to suffer through financial difficulty when you are out of work due to an injury sustained at work.
