Digby Brown Inverness awarded excellence in social responsibility

Inverness Cheque Handover to Crocus Group

Solicitors in our Inverness office were thrilled to win the Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility award at the Highland Business Women Awards on Friday 16th March.

This was a special honour for the team as they have been hard at work over the last year working to support the local community. This included opening the office on Saturday’s and operating outreach clinics in smaller communities to allow those who may not be able to make the journey to the office during business hours the opportunity to seek legal advice.

In addition to this, the team have been not only fundraising for their chosen local charity but also for other charities in Inverness throughout the year.

As part of their fundraising, the team were delighted to present a cheque for £6,493.36 to their charity partner for 2017 the Crocus Group.

The cheque was presented to Hannah Lind, Service Manager for the Crocus Group by the team from Digby Brown's Inverness Office.

Funds were raised throughout the year by various activities including running in the Loch Ness Marathon and a Race Night which alone raised £2,000 for the charity.

"Crocus Group childhood bereavement service were delighted to be chosen as Digby Brown Inverness’ charity partner for the past year. We have been so well supported by the team, not just in terms of their fundraising efforts, but by their interest in learning about the service and helping to raise our profile in the local community.

"We’ve really enjoyed following their fundraising events and they have raised an incredible amount of money which will make a real difference to what we can provide for the families who use our service."

David McGowan from the Inverness office said:

“We are delighted to have raised such a significant amount for an essential local charity. The Crocus Group make such a difference to the lives of those children who have experienced loss of a friend or family member.

“We are especially proud that as a small regional office we have been able to secure an award which recognises the work the team do to raise funds for local charities as well as how we give back to the local community”

For 2018 the Inverness office will be supporting Headway Highland and are looking forward to another year of fundraising for their chosen local charity. Plans have already started with this year’s Charity Race Night taking place on the 27th of April.
