Digby Brown is first law firm to earn Platinum Investors in People award FOUR times in a row
Digby Brown Solicitors has retained the prestigious Platinum accreditation from Investors in People (IiP) for the fourth time.
The award, which independently evaluates workplace culture every three years, was delivered after assessors found Digby Brown operated at an exceptional level while being “deeply values-driven, strategically mature and committed to its people”.
The personal injury firm first received Platinum in 2016 – the first UK law firm to achieve this – and since then has retained it in 2019, 2022 and now in 2025.
The latest accolade follows Digby Brown’s receipt of the Sunday Times’ Best Place to Work 2025 award in May earlier this year.
Fraser Oliver, Digby Brown Chief Executive, said: “Investors in People recognition is so important as it confirms what makes the firm unique within the Scottish legal sector.
"We are committed to being the best at what we do - being a leading legal service provider, being an employer of choice which develops its people and gives back to communities - and everyone does this with the knowledge we are one team.
“We strongly believe such results are best achieved when our people feel supported, listened to and given the opportunity to grow and we will continue to find new ways to enhance the firm and its people as we continue to deliver a leading service in Scotland."
Investors in People is often regarded as the highest HR-related assessment with awards delivered in more than 100 countries across the world.
Reviews - which consider independent analysis as well as confidential employee feedback reports - are carried out every three years with platinum, gold, silver and standard bandings with only 3% of UK businesses ever achieving platinum.
In its final report, Investors in People stated: “Digby Brown LLP continues to operate at an exceptional Platinum level, reflecting an organisation that is deeply values-driven, strategically mature and committed to its people.
“The firm achieved an outstanding overall score, placing it well above the IiP average and the Legal Services sector average. This makes Digby Brown the top-performing firm in its sector.”
IiP feedback also highlighted trusted, authentic and accessible leadership, strong employee engagement with a pride in the firm’s purpose, a culture of appreciation and a proven ability to manage change and maintain organisational resilience.
Assessors also noted staff understand firm values and translate them into their professional practice while legal trainees spoke positively of a balance between independence and review.
Wendy Quinn, HR Director at Digby Brown, added: “We firmly believe that when you give a lot, you get a lot in return and it’s this core principle that continues to drive the firm and our people.
“Values-based organisations flourish when everyone is aligned and it’s great to see that, even in confidential feedback sessions with IiP, our people feel supported and empowered.
“I also like to think that the fourth retention of Platinum accreditation - which is over a period of nearly 10 years - shows the firm is never complacent and is always mindful of retaining a positive culture while achieving litigative success.”
