Digby Brown offices raise £48,000 for local charities in 2021

Digby Brown Charity Fundraising in 2021

Staff from Digby Brown have been praised for their dedication to giving back after raising over £48,000 in aid of seven local causes.

The great total was raised during 2021 by people from across the firm’s seven offices engaging in socially distanced activities.

Notable efforts included Glasgow-based David Nellaney and Neil Wright who, respectively, rowed 40km and jogged 10miles every week for 40 weeks.

Walkers from Edinburgh tackled the seven peaks of the Pentlands while staff from Ayr completed the gruelling Five Ferries Challenge.

Dundee, Kirkcaldy, Inverness and Aberdeen were also the most creative with Munro-bagging, bike rides, five-a-side football and bowling.

The latest total even surpasses the £46,000 raised in 2020 – it will now support The JMA Trust, Health In Mind, NICU Ninewells, Highland Hospice, Support in Mind Scotland Fife Services, Sunrise Partnership and Whiteleys Retreat.

Kirsten Smith, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Digby Brown, said: “We are delighted to confirm this year’s total is also higher than last year.

“When we realised how much we were able to raise last year it really hammers home just how much our people are dedicated to the causes of the local charities they supported – even throughout a second lockdown.

“Knowing our staff are fundraising for charities in support of local groups makes their efforts, and indeed these partnerships, even more special.”

Fraser Oliver, the firm’s Chief Executive, added: “We care about the future and as a client-centric firm it matters that we make a difference in more ways than legal advice.

“We want to ensure our communities can access the support and services they depend on and that was never more important than during COVID-19.

“I was humbled to see staff stand by their chosen charities over the last two years as it really can make the difference between surviving and striving.

“Sincere congratulations to all who took part or arranged things behind the scenes - a very well done to all.”
