Digby Brown staff host Halloween bake sales raising more than £1,000 for local charities

Our staff host Halloween bake sales for charity

Colleagues from three of our offices got into the Halloween spirit last week baking a difference to support their local charity partners.

On 27 October team Edinburgh kicked off our spooktacular week of fundraising with their bake sale where winners were crowned for their efforts in two categories:

  • Taste-tacula! – for the most delicious bake went to Rachel Black, Associate, for her Minstrels Fudge.
  • Fang-tastic Design – for the most spooktacular creation went to Sarah Watt, Marketing Executive, for her Ghost Brownies.

With the generosity of staff our Edinburgh office raised £185 which was matched by the firm - creating a grand total of £370 for their local charity partner, Empty Kitchens Full Hearts.

Two days later and with Halloween drawing closer our Glasgow office welcomed representatives from Richmond’s Hope to judge their bumper bake sale.

Rebecca Amiel, Head of Fundraising, and Charlotte Steel, Community & Events Fundraiser, sampled more than 15 bakes before crowning Kimberley Allan, Associate Paralegal, as Star Baker for her Mummy Millionaire Brownies.

The fundraiser brought in £437 which, when matched by the firm, means Richmond’s Hope will receive a fantastic £874 in total.

On 30 October it was the turn of colleagues from our Dundee office to embrace the Halloween celebrations – and that they did with a bake sale full of spooky treats and a fancy-dress competition.

The team went all out with their costumes but it was Mhairi McCulloch from our Legal Enquiry Team who took the prize with her transformation into The Lorax.

Meanwhile our Senior Solicitor, Alasdair Dunlop, was crowned Star Baker for his Spooky Jack Skellington Biscuits.

Team Dundee dug deep and raised £200 which was matched by the firm - creating a grand total of £400 which will go to their local charity partner, Perth Autism Support.

A huge thank you to everybody who contributed their time, took part, donated or helped organise our Halloween activities this year.

Your enthusiasm and generosity help support the important work of our charity partners.

Well done, all!
