Digby Brown staff raise more than £10,000 for local charities with fundraising nights

Edinburgh and Ayr offices shown hosting fundraising nights in aid of their local charity partners

Staff from two of our offices recently hosted lively fundraising events in support of small charities in Ayr and Edinburgh.

From testing their knowledge at a quiz to enjoying the excitement of a race night, colleagues got involved and dug deep to raise vital funds for local causes.

Ayr Race Night

Our Ayr office hosted a bumper race night on 2 October where 52 guests gathered at Cameron’s Bar to support their local charity partner, Megan’s Space.

As well as several rounds of horse racing the night boasted various fundraising activities like a roll-the-coin game, bingo and a raffle with fantastic prizes to be won like an afternoon tea at the Waterside Hotel.

Amy Grant, Associate Paralegal in our Ayr office, said: “The night was about more than just fundraising - it was an opportunity to come together, raise awareness and support a cause that makes a real difference to the lives of others.

“The support from everyone on the night meant so much.”

The Ayr office raised an incredible £3,238 which was matched by the firm – creating a grand total of £6,476 which will go to Megan’s Space which aims to prevent the loss of young lives to suicide, reduce self-harm and promote mental wellbeing among children and young people.

Edinburgh Quiz Night

On 9 October our Edinburgh office hosted a lively quiz night at Augustine United Church in aid of their local charity partner, Empty Kitchens Full Hearts.

The evening saw 70 guests including a team from the charity take part in a multi-round quiz with prizes up for grabs for the winning team.

Attendees also had the chance to take part in a raffle to win items like a tour and tasting at Lind & Lime distillery, tickets for the Royal Yacht Britannia experience and a variety of restaurant vouchers.

Between ticket sales and fundraising on the night our Edinburgh office raised a fantastic £2,120 which was matched by the firm – creating a grand total of £4,240 which will go to Empty Kitchens Full Hearts which rescues surplus food and turns it into healthy meals for people living in poverty.

Well done, team Ayr and Edinburgh!
