Edinburgh children’s charity gets spring clean boost from Digby Brown staff

Edinburgh staff volunteer at spring cleaning days for The Yard

Last week, a five-strong team from our Edinburgh office supported The Yard with their April Maintenance Days.

Elaine, Trish, Stella, Stephen and Heather rolled up their sleeves and helped out with several indoor and outdoor tasks such as weeding, sweeping, painting and general tidying - all to make sure the facilities stay in top shape for the disabled children and families the charity supports.

Stephen Duff from our Edinburgh office said: “We got the best weather when we helped out so we spent a lot of time out in the yard painting, digging up the sandpits for cleaning, laying wood chips and much more.

“Everyone at the charity was incredibly welcoming - it felt great knowing our efforts will make a difference for the children who visit The Yard for support.”

The Yard has been working to improve the lives of disabled children and young people across Scotland since 1986, establishing safe and inclusive spaces for children to play, thrive and find support from others within the community.

The charity took to social media to thank the Digby Brown team along with the other volunteers for their help, saying: “From painting and planting to sanding and sawing, your time and teamwork have helped make our Edinburgh site the best it’s looked in years!

“Your support means even more children and families can enjoy inclusive play in a vibrant, safe space.”

Well done, all!
