Post Office Horizon Inquiry’s first publication recognises the human cost of the scandal

Digby Brown welcomes the recommendations in Volume 1 of the final report of the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry.
We are supporting several clients affected by the faults in the Post Office Horizon IT system with their ongoing fight for compensation.
The first publication from the inquiry led by Sir Wyn Williams focuses on the redress (compensation) scheme and the human impact of the scandal.
Partner at Digby Brown, Gordon Dalyell, says: “This is welcome recognition of the devastating impact this scandal has had and is still having on many postmasters, postmistresses, post office employees and their families.
“This includes a number of our clients, who have had their lives turned upside down after being falsely accused of stealing from the Post Office due to the faulty Horizon IT System.
“We further welcome recommendations to improve access to compensation for those affected by this miscarriage of justice.”
At Digby Brown we understand the profound impact this has had on individuals, families and communities.
If you were convicted or affected in any way by the scandal, you might be entitled to compensation.
There are several compensation schemes available which could help including:
- Horizon’s Convictions Redress Scheme (HCRS)
- Overturned Convictions Scheme (OC)
- Horizon Shortfall Scheme (HSS)
Our expert solicitors will identify the most suitable option and guide you through the process of making a claim.
