Staff join in on Halloween fun to raise money for local charity partners
This Halloween Digby Brown staff embraced the spirit of the season by hosting bumper fundraising events and activities in aid of their local charity partners.
At Digby Brown, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve. These initiatives not only bring staff together but also support the vital work carried out by charities across Scotland.
Glasgow’s Spooktacular Bake Off
Staff in our Glasgow office hosted a Halloween bake sale competition featuring a range of sweet treats from spider cupcakes to terrifying tray bakes and everything in between.
The event raised a massive £623, which, when matched by the firm, meant a grand total of £1,246 was donated to Crossbasket House.
William McGowan-Smith from the charity joined the festivities to judge the competition, crowning Kate Boyle the winner for her fabulous Spider and Ghost cupcakes.
Crossbasket House is a charity which provides free accommodation to families whose children are seriously ill in hospital. By offering a comfortable place to stay, close to Glasgow Children’s Hospital, Crossbasket House helps keep families together during difficult times.
The firm was also thrilled to sponsor a Halloween Social Night at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Spinal Injuries Unit. The fun-filled evening included a scavenger hunt around Horatio's Garden, Halloween-themed games, a spooky quiz and a variety of delicious themed treats for patients and their families to enjoy.
Edinburgh’s Frightful Quiz Night
Next up, our Edinburgh colleagues gathered together for a fantastic Halloween quiz in support of Edinburgh Young Carers. Together, the team raised an impressive £1,555, which the firm matched, meaning a total of £3,110 will go to the charity.
The evening was filled with laughter, costumes and a bit of healthy competition among teams.
Edinburgh Young Carers is a charity that provides respite and support to young people in North and South-East Edinburgh who care for a family member or a loved one at home. The voluntary organisation’s mission is to improve the lives and well-being of young carers through practical and emotional support in a friendly environment.
We’re incredibly thankful to everybody who contributed their time and dug deep to support such charitable causes this Halloween. Together, our teams have shown that even the spookiest season can be an opportunity to make a lasting, positive impact through partnering with these great charities.
Well done, all!
