Staff take on 'Mighty Stride' at Dundee Kiltwalk raising thousands for local children’s charity

Last Sunday, a team of 12 from our Dundee office geared up for a 20-mile trek from St Andrews to Dundee in support of their local charity partner, Dundee Bairns.

Under a bright summer sun and full of enthusiasm, the team set off from West Sands in St Andrews in sight of the famous first tee of the Old Golf Course.
Despite the heat the team kept the pace, and several hours (and a few race-day selfies) later, they eventually passed through Tayport and made their way over the iconic Tay Road Bridge.

The 12-strong team successfully completed the ‘Mighty Stride’, still smiling at the finish line.
Recalling the walk, Paul Wansell - Head of our Legal Enquiry Team - said: "We were about halfway through and I could feel I'd hit a pain barrier - but I kept going, thinking of the kids who go without food, clothing and the basics we all take for granted. That’s why supporting Dundee Bairns, and making it to the finish line, mattered.”

Jenna Philip from our Legal Enquiry Team added: “It was a struggle once we got to Tentsmuir with the different terrain - rocks, sand and uneven grass verges - but what a feeling it was to finish!
“To do it for a fantastic charity close to home was a great feeling.”
Dundee Bairns is a children's charity dedicated to helping children living in poverty in Dundee. Their vital work focuses on ensuring access to basic needs including tackling ‘holiday hunger’ - a challenge many families face when school meals aren’t available.
Thanks to the efforts of the team and the generosity of colleagues, family and friends, a fantastic £1,160 was raised which, when matched by the firm, means a total of £2,320 will go to Dundee Bairns.
Well done, team Dundee!
