Euan Love is Partner and Head of Industrial Disease at Digby Brown based in Glasgow. He acts for individuals and families across Scotland in claims arising from asbestos exposure and asbestos-related disease.
Euan joined Digby Brown in 2004 before becaming Partner in 2016. He moved into industrial disease work in 2012 and has specialised in asbestos disease litigation since then, raising actions in both the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court and the Court of Session.
He advises clients affected by the full range of asbestos-related conditions, including mesothelioma, asbestos-related lung cancer, asbestosis, pleural plaques and pleural thickening.
Euan is ranked in the UK-wide Industrial Disease category by Chambers and Partners, and independent legal directory. Chambers says: “I can't think of anyone better. He is very impressive, clever and diligent.” He is currently the only Scotland-based solicitor ranked in this UK-wide category.
He works closely with two of Scotland’s leading asbestos support charities, Clydebank Asbestos Group and Asbestos Action. Euan speaks each year at Clydebank Asbestos Group’s International Workers’ Memorial Day (IWMD) event. He also contributes to Asbestos Action’s quarterly newsletters, published on its news and events page. Digby Brown is on the Mesothelioma UK panel of solicitors, and Euan regularly supports its work through awareness and information-sharing.
By way of example, Euan acted for the family of a woman diagnosed with mesothelioma who had never worked in heavy industry. Her exposure arose through asbestos dust brought home on a family member’s work clothing over many years. The case required careful investigation of historic working practices and medical causation, and Euan secured compensation for the family.
He also advises individuals and families now living elsewhere in the UK, Canada and Australia who were exposed to asbestos while living and working in Scotland.
Euan is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).
