Iona joined Digby Brown in 2000 having graduated from Glasgow University in 1993. Following graduation, she undertook academic research at Glasgow University, tutored in Medical Law and Ethics and has been published.

She is a Partner in our Ayr office within our Network department, specialising in workplace accidents with experience in road traffic accident litigation. She has also pursued civil claims arising out of fatal accidents, including representing families who lost loved ones in several high profile road traffic accidents involving young drivers.

Iona acted for the pursuer in the landmark Supreme Court case of Tracey Kennedy v Cordia LLP, which considered the legal obligations on employers to carry our risk assessments and provide appropriate PPE. 

Iona litigates in both the Sheriff Court and Court of Session. She is a member of Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and a Notary Public.
