Neil qualified as a solicitor in 2007 after earning his LLB (Hons) from the University of Dundee and completing his Diploma in Legal Practice. He joined Digby Brown in 2010. He has worked in our firm’s Aberdeen office for over a decade having re-located from Dundee in 2014. He became a Partner in 2018.
As Partner and head of our Aberdeen office Neil deals primarily with cases arising from road traffic accidents and accidents at work involving people living in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. Neil has represented clients and families of individuals fatally injured in both the Sheriff Courts, the specialist All Scotland Personal Injury Court and the Court of Session, achieving significant financial recoveries for his clients and their families.
Neil specialises in dealing with claims arising from the Oil and Gas Industry in the North Sea, including accidents on oil rigs, vessels and other offshore installations.
In 2020 Neil was instructed by the majority of the passengers involved in the Stonehaven railway accident. He also represented families of those who tragically lost their lives in the accident.
Since 2020 Neil and his team in Aberdeen have recovered in excess of £25 million in compensation for their clients.
