Richard graduated from Edinburgh Napier University in 2010 after studying law in the evenings whilst working for a charity as an advocacy worker.
Richard joined the Foreign & Travel Department at Digby Brown's Edinburgh office as a trainee in 2012. He now works as a Partner within our Non-Accidental Injury team, where he is Head of Legislative Change.
As well as dealing with claims arising from non-recent abuse, Richard also specialises in claims arising from assaults, road rage, applications for Armed Forces and criminal injuries compensation.
Richard is best known for his success and expertise in Ministry of Defense actions where he specialises in abuse cases involving service cadets. In one case he secured significant compensation for cadet victims who had been abused.
In another notable case, Richard successfully secured a seven-figure sum against Loretto School on behalf of a former pupil.
He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law.
