Richard graduated from Napier University in 2010 after studying law in the evenings whilst working for a charity as an advocacy worker.

After completing the Diploma at Edinburgh, he joined the Foreign & Travel Department at Digby Brown's Edinburgh office as a trainee in 2012. He now works as a Partner within our Non-Accidental Injury team, where he is Head of Legislative Change. 

As well as dealing with claims arising from non-recent abuse, Richard also specialises in claims arising from assaults, road rage and applications for Armed Forces and criminal injuries compensation.

He is best known for his success and expertise in Ministry of Defence actions, recovering £1.3million for cadet victims, as well as high-profile actions against Loretto School and Edinburgh Academy. 

He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law.
