Robert graduated from the University of Dundee in 1999 with an MA and LLB and Diploma before joining Digby Brown as a trainee later that year. He was made Partner in 2007 and now serves as Head of the Dundee office.

In addition to his regional leadership, Robert is the Client Relations Manager for the firm ensuring the highest standards of service and care across all of Digby Brown’s departments.

He deals with a broad range of personal injury matters, including workplaceroad traffic casesfatal accidentsproduct liability and general accidents.

Part of Robert’s practice involves pursuing professional negligence cases on behalf of individuals whose injury claims were previously mishandled by other legal firms. He is dedicated to recovering the compensation clients were denied due to inadequate advice or procedural failures.

Some notable successes in this area include securing justice for a widow who had been incorrectly told by a previous firm that her late husband was entirely to blame for his fatal workplace accident. This “advice" was only provided after the firm had allowed the case to drift beyond the three-year time limit preventing the claim from proceeding. Robert successfully investigated this case and established negligence against the previous solicitors to achieve a fair outcome.

Throughout his career, Robert has developed extensive experience in litigation within both the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session.

He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), accredited at Senior Litigator level. He is recognised as an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law by the Law Society of Scotland.
