Theresa joined Digby Brown in 2013 having graduated with a First Class LLB (Hons) and completed the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in 2013 from the University of Glasgow. Theresa trained in the firm's Employment department. During her training contract she gained experience in employment law appearing in the Employment Tribunal and Sheriff Court. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2015 before being promoted to Associate in 2021 and becoming Partner in 2025 within the firm’s Network Department based in our Edinburgh office. 

Theresa obtained rights of audience as a Solicitor Advocate (Civil) in 2025. She has appeared as junior counsel in the Court of Session. 

Theresa deals with a wide variety of cases including workplace accidents, road traffic accidents and fatal accidents. She deals with cases involving chronic pain disorders and functional disorders. 

Theresa has represented clients in both the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session achieving success. She has experience in the Sheriff Appeal Court. She has acted in Fatal Accident Inquiries including the death of Shea Ryan where the Sheriff made Health and Safety recommendations for construction sites. The Sheriff made recommendations in relation to safety measures to minimise unauthorised access onto construction sites and safety measures in relation to uncovered manholes outwith operational hours. Recommendations were also made in relation to safety of children when construction work is being carried out. 

Theresa also deals with death in custody cases, miscarriage of justice cases and actions against the Police. She was the lead solicitor in the recent decision of Welsh v Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service where the pursuer was unlawfully detained for a period of seven days. The court considered European and domestic law before making an award of damages to the pursuer. 

Theresa is a Notary Public and a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL)
