Last week, a 14-strong team from Glasgow kicked off fundraising for their 2026 local charity partner, Richmond’s Hope, by tackling a mammoth endurance challenge in our city centre office.

Across a 16 hour period, staff worked in teams in a rotating relay on exercise machines kindly provided by PureGym Glasgow Bath Street.

This meant that from 7am to 11pm two spin bikes, two rowing machines and a treadmill were always in use.

David Nellaney, Partner and creator of the challenge, commented: “The challenge was designed to bring the team together and raise funds for Richmond’s Hope which will go directly to supporting children who are trying to cope with bereavement.

“With the type of work Digby Brown does we quite regularly see the impact the loss of a parent or sibling can have on a child. That knowledge and seeing the impact Richmond’s Hope has on the lives of young people allowed the team to show resilience and dig deep when it became increasingly difficult and painful.”

Throughout the day the team were met with encouragement and supplied with plenty of snacks for sustenance by their colleagues.

The team also had support from physiotherapists at JMC PhysioCures and staff from PureGym who came to cheer them on.

By the end of the challenge the group had covered an incredible 887 kilometres.

Louise McCulloch, Associate, said: “When I was asked to participate in the challenge there was no doubt in my mind that I should get involved. The challenge itself proved physically difficult at points, however it was all for a very important cause and that got our team through. I loved being a part of it!”

Neil Wright, Trainee Solicitor, added: “It was great to take part in the challenge alongside my colleagues. The energy levels were high and there was great buzz around the office. The aches and pains were definitely all worth it to raise money for Richmond’s Hope.”

With the generosity of family, friends and colleagues, the team smashed their fundraising target of £2,000 raising £4,745 - this amount will be matched by the firm bringing the total to a whopping £9,490 which will go to the charity.

Megan Downie, Trainee Solicitor, concluded: “The challenge was certainly tough, but the support from everyone got us through - along with a bit of competitiveness! I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and am so proud to have raised as much as we have for such an incredible charity.”

Well done to everyone who took part in the challenge!
