Staff help The Yard prepare new Glasgow centre ahead of grand opening

Earlier this month, staff from our Glasgow office rolled up their sleeves to help The Yard get their new Glasgow support centre ready for its upcoming grand opening on Saturday 28 June.
The Yard has been working to improve the lives of disabled children and young people across Scotland since 1986, establishing inclusive spaces for children to play, thrive and find support from others within the community.
The centre on Netherlee Road will continue this mission to offer a safe, fun and accessible space for disabled children, young people and their families in the West of Scotland.
David Nellaney, Partner in our Glasgow office, said: “The day was really varied – Lauren, Karen and I fixed up the sandpit which involved clearing the old sand and moving four tonnes of new sand into the pit.
“We unloaded a van of equipment, cleaned toys and at the end I used a power washer to clean up the area around the playground.
“It was a non-stop day but so worth it for the benefit the refreshed space will bring to everyone who will come to the centre.”

Adina Iqbal, Solicitor in our Glasgow office, added: “My group had the job of cleaning, tidying and weeding the butterfly garden - it’s an area with a huge hedge shaped like a butterfly!
“Our job was to get it back to a tidy and safe space for the kids to play around - it was a lot tougher than it looked but it was an enjoyable day and all for a great cause.”

The Yard thanked the team saying: “The Digby Brown volunteers we had in did a fantastic job!
“We really appreciate all your support helping get our Glasgow centre ready for opening.”
Well done, all!
