Maite is a dual-qualified Scottish Solicitor and Spanish Lawyer. She has a Spanish Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) and a Master in European Union Law.
She joined the firm in 2014 and is based in the Foreign and Travel Law department in our Edinburgh office. She became an Associate in 2025.
Maite is a notary public with extensive civil litigation experience, particularly in Personal Injury, Product Liability, EU law and International Law. Her mother tongue is Spanish and she also speaks French.
She has experience dealing with cross-border and international claims in both the Sheriff Court and the Court of Session, acting for Scots injured abroad. She has helped clients who have had accidents on holiday, road traffic accidents abroad, workplace accidents abroad, accidents on and involving aircraft and accidents on sea-going vessels.
Due to her education and professional background, Maite has expertise in cases involving accidents in Spain. Her language skills are a great help to people whose first language is Spanish. She represents individuals from all around the world.
