Digby Brown staff complete Edinburgh Kiltwalk challenges raising thousands for local charities
Colleagues from our Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh offices laced up their trainers and took on all three routes at the Edinburgh Kiltwalk to raise funds for their local charity partners.
A four-strong team from Kirkcaldy took on the 21-mile Mighty Stride in support of LoveOliver while 11 colleagues from Edinburgh took part for Empty Kitchens Full Hearts with six completing the Big Stroll and five the Wee Wander.
Though their journeys started at different points around the capital, all three teams covered the required miles for their route making their way to the finish line at Murrayfield Stadium along with nearly 8,000 other walkers taking part on the day.
Ashley Sturrock, Partner in our Edinburgh office who took on the Wee Wander, said: "It was great to take part in the Kiltwalk this year supporting such a great cause.
“This Kiltwalk was particularly special for me as I completed it with my daughter and I loved getting her involved with the great work our office does supporting a local charity which helps so many people at a vulnerable point in their lives."
Part of the team who faced the Mighty Stride was Innes Laing, Partner in our Kirkcaldy office, who said: “The uphill walk from Pilton to Murrayfield Stadium was brutal. I did just over 44,000 steps in total which is a lot for my little legs!
“However it was totally worth it to raise money for a great charity which helps so many families.”
The Kirkcaldy team raised an incredible £1,010 which, when matched by the firm, means £2,020 which will go to LoveOliver - a charity which supports children with cancer and their families while also funding important childhood cancer research.
The Edinburgh team raised a fantastic £870 which was matched by the firm - creating a grand total of £1,740 which will go to Empty Kitchens Full Hearts which rescues surplus food and turns it into healthy meals for people living in poverty.
Well done, all!
