Digby Brown Solicitors claim to be the number one law firm of personal injury lawyers in Scotland. We have detailed below some of the reasons behind why we believe this.
Top ranked personal injury firm in Scotland
We are the only law firm to be top ranked for personal injury by both the top two independent legal directories in the UK, Chambers Guide to the UK Legal profession and Legal 500 respectively. Digby Brown has been top ranked in Chambers for the last fifteen years and top ranked by Legal 500 for the last fourteen.
What does that mean? These directories are the who’s who of the legal sector across the United Kingdom, with dedicated sections covering each region and area of expertise. They are compiled by interviewing other legal firms and associated organisations and finding out who they regard as experts in any chosen legal field.
The Law Society of Scotland, our governing body, ranks 14 of the partners and 7 of the associates in the firm as specialists in the field of personal injury and around a half of all the personal injury lawyers in Scotland listed by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) work at Digby Brown.
Award winning law firm
In 2020, Digby Brown's Serious Injury team also won Catastrophic Injury Team of the year at the 2020 Personal Injury Awards, which are UK wide and recognises the top law firms across the UK. The firm were also thrilled to retain the award for Community Contribution at the Scottish Legal Awards.
In 2016, we were honoured to be named Law Firm of the Year (over 40 fee earners) and Corporate Social Responsibility Firm of the Year at the Law Awards 2016.
In March 2015, Digby Brown was named Scotland’s Number One SME by Business Insider. In the same month, Digby Brown won a series of accolades at the 2015 Scott & Co. Legal Awards: we were named Firm of the Year, recognised as the Employer of the Year, named Litigation Team of the Year and received the Community Contribution award for the second year running.
Personal injury solicitor of choice
We are recommended as the personal injury solicitor of choice by a number of national charities including Spinal Injuries Scotland and Asbestos Action as well as being listed in legal directories by Headway (the Brain Injury Charity) and the Child Brain Injury Trust and being leading campaigners in Scotland for safety on our roads, helping Brake, the road safety charity.
Focused on clients
Clients are at the centre of everything we do. To make sure all our clients receive the very best experience with Digby Brown, we provide the opportunity for them to review and rate the service they receive from us via the independent consumer review website Trustpilot. Hundreds of clients have provided feedback on their experience with us and we are proud that they give us an average score of 4.7/5.
As we have grown, our commitment to being a business that invests in and supports its people and does the right things has remained constant.
In November 2016, we became the first law firm in the UK to achieve Platinum Level Accreditation from Investors in People.
This involved a two stage assessment process covering Reward and Recognition, Learning and Development, Strategy and Effectiveness, Performance Measurement, Involvement and Empowerment, Continuous Improvement, People Management and Leadership. The prestigious rankings are conducted every three years with platinum, gold, silver and standard bandings, only 3% of UK businesses ever achieve platinum.
After re-assessment in 2020 we were able to maintain Platinum Level Accreditation.
